Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

1. Who we are

Find Your Cap ("we," "us," "our") operates capcompare.com, a website that helps users compare hat prices across multiple online retailers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We are based in Quebec, Canada, and this policy is written to comply with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly. If you sign up for price-drop alerts or contact us, we collect what you give us — for example, your email address.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we may automatically collect:

  • Basic usage data (pages visited, time on site, referring site)
  • Device and browser information
  • Approximate location derived from IP address
  • Cookies or similar technologies used for analytics and site functionality

We currently do not require account creation to browse or search the site.

3. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

  • Operate and improve the website
  • Send price-drop alerts, if you sign up for that feature
  • Understand how the site is used, in aggregate, to improve it
  • Respond to questions or support requests you send us

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-party links and affiliate relationships

Find Your Cap displays prices and links to third-party retailer websites. We do not control those websites, and this policy does not apply to them — please review the privacy policy of any retailer site before making a purchase there.

Some links on this site may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase through them, at no additional cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

5. Cookies

We may use cookies or similar technologies for basic site functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some site features.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

7. Your rights

Under Quebec and Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent to future collection or use, where applicable
  • File a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) or the federal Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@capcompare.com.

8. Children's privacy

Find Your Cap is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
